Homeowners Use Guns to Defend Homes, Lives

Over the weekend, two citizens defended their lives and homes from intruders threatening them in Washington and Tennessee.

A 51-year old man broke into a couple’s home in Chehalis, WA early Sunday morning. The husband called 911 and armed himself with his pistol.

When the intruder charged him, the homeowner shot the suspect at close range. Fighting with the wounded burglar, he was able to hold the man at gunpoint until the police arrived. The homeowner and his wife were not harmed.

On Friday night in East Ridge, TN, 34-year-old George Miles got into a fight with a man who lives with Miles’s ex-girlfriend. At 4:30 AM, Miles tried to break into the house while screaming “I’m going to kill you,” prompting the roommate to call the police.

When Miles broke a bedroom window and tried to climb inside, the man shot Miles in the torso. No one in the home was harmed; Miles is recovering at a local hospital.
