During a June 13 press conference with Newtown, Connecticut families, Senator Chris Murphy (D-CT) said he and gun control advocates were never going to give up on passing more gun control.
“We are never going to give up,” said Murphy.
According to the Hartford Courant, Murphy also said that Senators who refuse to meet with Newtown families amid the continued push for gun control ought to “have the guts” to do so.
Senator Richard Blumenthal (D-CT) was also there, and he expressed his confidence that there will be another gun control vote. “Our cause is unstoppable,” he claimed.
Rep. Elizabeth Esty (D-CT) attended the press conference as well. She made clear her view that “inexplicable cowardice” is the only thing that stopped gun control from passing out of the Senate in April.
