John Kerry: James Foley Beheading 'Ugly, Savage, Inexplicable, Nihilistic, Valueless'
Secretary of State John Kerry issued a statement with strong words for the ISIL terrorists who were responsible for the death of American journalist James Foley.
Kerry said that the action was a reminder to the world of the horrors committed by ISIL terrorists.
“There is evil in this world, and we all have come face to face with it once again. Ugly, savage, inexplicable, nihilistic, and valueless evil,” he said. “ISIL is the face of that evil.”
Kerry also called the terrorist actions “an ugly insult to the peaceful religion” of Islam.
“Make no mistake: we will continue to confront ISIL wherever it tries to spread its despicable hatred,” he continued. “The world must know that the United States of America will never back down in the face of such evil.”
Kerry also vowed to bring the terrorists responsible to justice.
“ISIL and the wickedness it represents must be destroyed, and those responsible for this heinous, vicious atrocity will be held accountable,” he concluded.
