Israel Preparing for War with Lebanon to Prevent Weapons to Hezbollah
Israel appears to be readying itself for a war with Lebanon in order to keep Hezbollah from acquiring the weaponry they need to carry out attacks on the Jewish state.
Israeli officials have "warned" U.S. officials that such a conflict is coming; the Israeli military has "reportedly deployed missile defense shields in the northern part of the country." Moreover, all civilian aircraft have been ordered to "evacuate Haifa airport, the Jewish state's northernmost hub."
Israel has also deployed a third Iron Dome missile system to the north and is warning U.N. peacekeepers in southern Lebanon to "take precautions."
Although no time table for an attack has been given, it appears to be imminent. It is believed Israel is ready not simply to attack, but to "penetrate deep inside Lebanese territory in order to prevent Hezbollah from acquiring sophisticated weaponry."
