VIDEO: Brits Can't Name European Council President, Nor Answer 4 Basic Questions About The EU
Britons scored almost bottom in a basic quiz about the European Union, according to a new study by the left-wing think-tank Demos.
The Sun reports that only around 1.67 in four people who were quizzed in Britain could correctly answer basic try or false questions about the European Union such as: "Switzerland is a member" and "The EU has 25 member states".
The score puts Britons above just Romania, Lithuania, Italy, Spain and Bulgaria – but behind every other member state. However, even the best scoring country didn't do particularly well given how rudimentary the questions were. Austrians, who topped the quiz, achieved just 2.77 out of four on average.
The news comes as a less scientific poll by Breitbart London was conducted on the streets of London this weekend. The video below shows Breitbart London's Political Correspondent Andre Walker quizzing Brits and tourists on whether they could name the President of the European Council, one of the most powerful men in the world: Herman Van Rompuy.
