SF QB Seeks to Trademark 'Kaepernicking'
San Francisco quarterback Colin Kaepernick has filed an application to trademark "Kaepernicking," his signature move of kissing his tattooed bicep after scoring a touchdown.
In recent years, other athletes have trademarked terms associated with their names. Tim Tebow trademarked "Tebowing" and Jeremy Lin trademarked "Linsanity."
Kaepernick filed the trademark application on January 14 with the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office.
He plans to use "Kaepernicking" on t-shirts. His football jersey has been the best-selling jersey during San Francisco's run to the Super Bowl.
