Carolyn Moos, the ex-fiancee of Jason Collins whom he led on for eight years, is planning to freeze her eggs later this month in case she will need to undergo IVF to have kids in the future.
Moos, 34, revealed this week that she always thought she would marry Collins and have his children. She said Collins cancelled their wedding and gave her a bunch of “BS” reasons. She only found out Collins was gay–and that was the reason why he left her–the weekend before Collins came out to the world in the Sports Illustrated article.
The former Stanford University and WNBA basketball player said she is in the process of trying to re-write her life’s script because she still wants to get married, have children, and a family, which she had envisioned doing with Collins.
The procedure to freeze her eggs costs around $10,000 and Moos is hoping to get some financial backing, perhaps from producers who may want to produce a documentary about her experiences.
In an interview on CNN earlier this week, Moos did not directly answer host Piers Morgan’s question about whether Collins had ever apologized to her for leading her on for eight years.
