Report: Notre Dame QB Everett Golson No Longer Enrolled at School
In news that will rock the college football world and have major ramifications, Notre Dame quarterback Everett Golson is reportedly no longer enrolled at the university.
Angelo Di Carlo, of WNDU, reported on Saturday night that the school confirmed that Golson is "no longer enrolled" at Notre Dame, but Notre Dame cannot reveal why due to privacy laws. Notre Dame spokesperson Dennis Brown confirmed the news to other outlets as well.
Golson, a redshirt freshman, struggled at times last season but was coming into his own toward the end of the year as he led Notre Dame to the national title game against Alabama. In that game, Notre Dame, like Michigan did with Denard Robinson to start off the season against Alabama, inexplicably tried to make him more of a pocket passer, playing into Alabama's strengths and making the quarterback struggle against Nick Saban's complex defensive schemes. Alabama defeated Notre Dame 42-14 in a lopsided game.
It goes without saying, though, that Golson was a huge centerpiece of Brian Kelly's squad.
