Muppets Go Partisan: Kermit And Miss Piggy Trash Fox News

From Big Hollywood Editor John Nolte: "The Fox News segment Kermit and Miss Piggy are responding to (in the video) [is] rather innocuous and perfectly valid discussion about the culture. As a response, and nearly a week after the segment aired, the Fox-hating entertainment media (which is all of them) 'viralized' the clip, blew the controversy up into something it really wasn’t, and did so because they find it impossible to turn down an opportunity to prove they’re one of the minions in the club."

Jindal: Brewer, Obama Exchange 'Brought Back Memories' Of 'Obviously Staged' Incident

Governor Bobby Jindal told "Fox & Friends": “It brought back memories... He grabs me by the arm, takes me aside. Here’s the strange thing: I thought he’d be angry about the oil spill, the lack of resources; I thought he’d get down there and say, 'Look governor, we’re going to do everything we can to work together.' Instead, he was upset he was going to look bad; he was worried about some routine letter we had already sent to his administration, nothing important." 30 Jan 2012

Finger-Wag Flashback: NBC's Brian Williams Goes 'Jan Brewer' On President Bush

NBC anchor Brian Williams had an interview with President Bush in 2006 to discuss his "eclectic" reading habits. The conversation changed to leadership and his decisions being constantly analyzed by pundits and commentators. During the exchange Brian Williams pointed his finger at President Bush's chest asking, "even if you're frustrated that we're getting something wrong?" in response to President Bush saying that a leader cannot allow the constant exposure to cause him to lose focus on fulfilling his job as a decision maker.

Much has been made about the recent photo of AZ Governor Jan Brewer pointing her finger at President Obama. Many in the media have considered it racist, disrespectful and "unprecedented." It will be interesting to see if those same media commentators will have the same reaction to this gesture made by Brian Williams.

Lawyers Move To Restrict Campaign From Using NBC Content In Ads

In a new ad from the Mitt Romney campaign, Tom Brokaw is featured giving a news report of the Newt Gingrich ethics investigations. Brokaw issued a statement that he was "extremely uncomfortable" that his previous reporting was being used for political gain.

From CNN:"The NBC legal department has written a letter to the [Romney] campaign asking for the removal of all NBC News material from their campaign ads. Similar requests have gone out to other campaigns that NBC says have inappropriately used clips from 'Nightly News,' 'Meet the Press,' 'Today' and MSNBC material."

The Romney campaign has issued a statement saying "We just received the letter. We are reviewing it. But we believe it falls within fair use."
