Boyfriend Allegedly Chokes Girlfriend, She Opens Fire

On May 26 a “domestic incident” in which a boyfriend allegedly began chocking his girlfriend ended because she had access to a gun and was able to shoot him with hit until he stopped.

The incident occurred in Huntsville, Alabama, in the 200 block of Binford Drive.

According to AL.com, the 24-year-old woman said she and her boyfriend were fighting when he allegedly began choking her. She was able to get to loose long enough to grab her gun and opened fire as he allegedly continued to attack.

She struck the 32-year-old boyfriend in the abdomen and he fled the scene for treatment.

Huntsville Police report the boyfriend “drove himself to Huntsville Hospital” and underwent surgery for life-threatening injuries.

Police also said “there is a history of domestic violence between the two.” They have “determined [the shooting] was in self-defense.”
