MCALLEN, Texas — Parents in this border city received a message from the McAllen Independent School District advising them that they had also received a threat of violence similar to those sent to other districts.

“The district was able to trace the email to the same server that was used in the hoax that occurred in New York and California earlier this week. Even though nothing occurred as a result of those hoaxes, it is important for the community to know that the district has followed the proper protocol by communicating with the local FBI Terrorist Task Force and city police,” the message posted by the school district on their website revealed. “The district has also taken extra precautions which include stationing extra police officers at the schools and increasing patrols. Those extra precautions began on Tuesday in preparation for the end of the semester.”

The district advised parents that classes are expected to resume as normal. In addition to posting the message on their website, parents also received an email on Wednesday night and school officials disseminated it through social media.

McAllen School Threat

The threats against McAllen ISD come just one day after as Breitbart Texas reported, the school district in Houston received similar threats.

The threats appear to have begun on Monday where according to the

extensive coverage provided by Breitbart News, the Los Angeles Unified School District shut down their operations after receiving an electronic bomb threat that was later found to be a hoax.

The threats soon appeared in New York and Miami causing a similar reaction. To date, none of the bomb threats have proven true.

On Wednesday morning, the news of the threat in McAllen became the morning conversation among parents who were dropping off their children.
