Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger and his wife, Ashley, have welcomed a “healthy, beautiful baby boy” to their family, the NFL star said on his website Thursday.
Benjamin jnr was born on Wednesday night, and weighed in at seven pounds and one ounce, Roethlisberger said — an extra helping of family joy on the US Thanksgiving holiday.
“We would like to let everyone know that last night at 10:06 PM Ashley and I welcomed a healthy, beautiful baby boy into this world,” he wrote. “Both mom and baby are doing well.
“We want to thank everyone for their thoughts and prayers, it really means a lot to us,” added the first-time father. “God is so good!”
Roethlisberger, a two-time Super Bowl champion, is currently sidelined with a sprained right shoulder joint suffered suffered in a game against Kansas City on November 12.
