Mexican President Enrique Pena Nieto met with Real Madrid president Florentino Perez, but the focus was on the investments of the Spaniard’s construction firm, not the latest soccer news.
The pair met Tuesday at the Los Pinos presidential residence in Mexico City where they announced an increase in investments from ACS, Spain’s leading construction company, in Mexico. The president’s office released neither details nor the investment amounts.
Perez recalled that the subsidiary Dragados Offshore provides services to the state-owner oil giant Pemex to develop “various engineering, design and construction projects” in platforms such as the Ku-Maloob Zaap complex, which produces a third of Mexican oil.
Perez also met with Mexico’s ministers of energy, transportation and communications, and the environment, as well as the heads of Pemex and the Federal Electricity Commission.
Perez is expected to visit students from the Realmadrid Foundation in Colombia.
