Amazon adds 5,000 jobs, hiring more than 7,000

Amazon announced Monday it was adding 5,000 full-time jobs and hiring more than 7,000 workers in the United States as it beefs up its customer-service network.

The Internet retail giant’s jobs increase came as it expands its distribution network nationwide to speed up deliveries.
