Prince William’s pregnant wife Catherine has cancelled her appearance at the British premiere of “The Hobbit”, days after leaving hospital where she was treated for severe morning sickness, St James’s Palace said Tuesday.
“The Duchess of Cambridge will not attend ‘The Hobbit’ premiere tomorrow evening and will continue to rest privately,” a St James’s Palace spokesman said, adding that William would attend.
Kate, 30, is suffering from hyperemesis gravidarum, which leaves expectant mothers with constant nausea and regular vomiting.
She received four days of hospital treatment last week and is recuperating at Kensington Palace in London.
The news of Kate?s pregnancy took a tragic turn when a nurse at the King Edward VII hospital in London where she was treated was found dead Friday after apparently committing suicide.
Jacintha Saldanha had fielded a hoax call from an Australian radio station whose presenters pretended to be Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Charles asking for an update on Kate?s condition.
William pulled out of the British Military Tournament over the weekend to spend more time with Kate, whose sickness had intensified.
