Eight men, among them anti-apartheid leader and African National Congress member Nelson Mandela leave the Palace of Justice in Pretoria in 1964. South African academic and distinguished linguist Neville Alexander, who spent time in jail with Mandela, died of cancer aged 75 on Monday, the University of Cape Town said.
