The Mountain Hafthór Júlíus Björnsson is strongest Viking in 1,000 years

NORD-FRON, Norway, Feb. 4 (UPI) — Game of Thrones actor Hafthor Julius Björnsson, better known as The Mountain, became the strongest Viking in 1,000 years.

According to Icelandic legend, Orm Storulfsson walked three steps with a wooden log weighing about 1,500 lbs before breaking his back. Björnsson carried a log of the same weight and size for five steps.

Afterwards he took to social media, claiming “My back held up fine!”

Björnsson stunned Game of Thrones fans after a particular gruesome fight scene in “The Mountain and the Viper” where The Mountain killed Oberyn Martell (Pedro Pascal) by squeezing his head until it exploded — an actual real life possibility.

No matter how big and strong, Björnsson still proves to be friendly.
