Senator Elizabeth Warren (D-MA) said that Social Security should be be made “secure” while increasing benefits in an interview broadcast on Tuesday’s “Rachel Maddow Show” on MSNBC.

Warren laid out a list of policy proposals that she wanted to see accomplished, among these was “we need to make sure that Social Security is secure into the future and expand the benefits.”

Warren didn’t specify how she would accomplish this during the interview, but did point to votes on Social Security Democrats made in the Senate last Thursday. In a 2013 interview with Mother Jones, Warren floated a minimum wage increase as a Social Security solution.
