Obama Signs Secret Order to Aid Syria Rebels

Reuters is reporting that President Obama has signed a “secret order” authorizing “U.S. support for rebels seeking to depose Syrian President Bashar al-Assad.” The order allows the CIA and other U.S. intelligence agencies to join the fray and take part in his removal.

The order stops short of allowing the shipment of “lethal weapons” to the rebels, yet it has clearly resulted in better organization and “effectiveness” for the rebel groups.

According to Reuters, the U.S. is “collaborating” with a secret command center run by Turkey and joined by Saudi Arabia and Qatar. Wealthy families within Saudi Arabia and Qatar are also providing funding for the rebel forces seeking to remove Assad.
