At a press conference convened Friday morning by the Congressional Black Caucus (CBC) following the shootings, Richmond referred to the CBC as the “conscience” and “intellectual capacity” of Congress as he used the fatal shootings of Alton Sterling of Louisiana and Philando Castile of Minnesota by police officers, and the killing of the Dallas police officers as reason to call for further gun control measures.

Sununu’s vote for a contract that includes even retroactive funding for Planned Parenthood in the state, is a reversal of his vote last year following the release of a series of videos exposing the abortion business’ apparent practice of selling the body parts of babies it aborts on the open market. At that time, Sununu helped to kill a measure in the state to provide the funds.

Pro-Life Heads Press House Leaders: Defund ‘Barbaric’ Planned Parenthood

The leaders assert in a letter that the House’s Select Investigative Panel on Infant Lives has worked to uncover Planned Parenthood’s fetal tissue trafficking program and its “turn-key business relationship” with biomedical procurement company StemExpress. The outcome, they say, is that the panel has “established probable cause that federal law prohibiting the for-profit exchange of fetal tissue had been violated.”
