The Community Organizer In Chief Appalls Again

In response to Obama’s Charm Offensive On U.S. Military:

Okay, I’ve got a thing or to to say about this…

Obama: Unfortunately, Congress has not fulfilled its responsibility. It has failed to pass a budget and, as a result, much of our government must now shut down until Congress funds it again. Secretary Hagel, General Dempsey and your commanders will have more information about how this affects you and your families. Today, I want to speak directly to you about what happens next.

Disgusting! Always the Community Organizer, Obama must engage in this hyper-partisan finger pointing even when speaking to the United States military?

Hey, did Obama fulfill his responsibility the last four years to produce a budget to Congress on time? Answer: No. He was late four years in a row with his last budget submitted in April of this year – two months late, and declared “dead on arrival.” Obama holds the distinction of being the first President to propose budgets so extreme that not a single representative from either party can cast a vote in favor of them.

Meanwhile, when is the last time Harry Reid fulfilled his responsibility as the Majority Leader to propose a budget as required by law? Isn’t the whole reason we keep having to deal with the “brinkmanship” that comes with these Continuing Resolutions because Harry Reid wants to shield his fellow Democrats from voting for their out-of-control spendathon, as unemployment and the unsustainable federal debt rises  and their economy limps weakly on?

So when Republicans now try to fulfill their obligations to their constituents to doing something about a law  we all know was designed to lead to Single Payer,  a law that has been consistently unpopular – when it passed, in the weeks and months afterward, on  election day 2012, and still now, yet we’re the ones being unreasonable???

Those of you in uniform will remain on your normal duty status. The threats to our national security have not changed, and we need you to be ready for any contingency. Ongoing military operations–like our efforts in Afghanistan–will continue. If you’re serving in harm’s way, we’re going to make sure you have what you need to succeed in your missions. Congress has passed, and I am signing into law, legislation to make sure you get your paychecks on time. And we’ll continue working to address any impact this shutdown has on you and your families.

Congress – as in the evil Republican anarchist/terrorist/ hostage takers –  came up with the legislation themselves  to fund the military that Obama makes sure to credit himself for signing.

And then there’s this gem:

I’m going to keep fighting to get rid of those across-the-board budget cuts–the sequester–which are hurting our military and our economy. We need a responsible approach that deals with our fiscal challenges and keeps our military and our economy strong. And I’m going to make sure you stay the greatest military in the world–bar none. That’s what I’m fighting for. That’s what you and your families deserve.-BHO

That’s so touching – as usual O is fighting to undo the devastation wrought by the tea party radicals in Congress.

Except as Javier noted, sequestration was Obama’s idea. He has been trying to rewrite the history on it for at least a year but that pesky, Pulitzer Prize winning, Washington Post journalist, Bob Woodward, very inconveniently called him out on it, last February:

The finger-pointing began during the third presidential debate last fall, on Oct. 22, when President Obama blamed Congress. “The sequester is not something that I’ve proposed,” Obama said. “It is something that Congress has proposed.”

The White House chief of staff at the time, Jack Lew, who had been budget director during the negotiations that set up the sequester in 2011, backed up the president two days later.
“There was an insistence on the part of Republicans in Congress for there to be some automatic trigger,” Lew said while campaigning in Florida. It “was very much rooted in the Republican congressional insistence that there be an automatic measure.”
The president and Lew had this wrong. My extensive reporting for my book “The Price of Politics” shows that the automatic spending cuts were initiated by the White House and were the brainchild of Lew and White House congressional relations chief Rob Nabors — probably the foremost experts on budget issues in the senior ranks of the federal government.

I guess Obama figures the bitter clingers in the US military don’t read the Washington Post.

If Obama really wants to do our men and women in the military a favor, maybe he could call off the anti-Christian, pro-gay marriage inquisition?

“The religious persecution is happening,” the pastor said. “It’s getting bigger every day. Gay and lesbian airmen can talk about their lifestyle, but the rest have to stay completely quiet about what they believe.”

One airman was told that even thinking that homosexuality is a sin is discriminatory.
