San Antonio Teacher Reportedly Brings Brass Knuckles, Meth Pipe to Public School

HOUSTON, Texas — A teacher at a San Antonio was arrested after reportedly bringing brass knuckles and a methamphetamine pipe onto public school property. He also may have been carrying a knife.

The teacher, Jake Contreras, was taken into police custody on Wednesday, according to local media outlet KENS 5. Officers for the South San Antonio Independent School District found the items in Contreras’ backpack after receiving an anonymous tip earlier in the week.

The seized pipe tested positive for traces of methamphetamine.

As a result, the teacher was officially charged with possession of a controlled substance and possession of a weapon in a prohibited place. His bond was set at $30,000.

Contreras, a “paraprofessional redirection aide” who worked on student behavior modification, resigned following his arrest.
