Heilemann: Trump Jr. ‘Admitted Collusion’ – ‘He’s Admitted to the Crime, Not in Some Legal Sense, But in Fact, to the Act’

On Thursday’s broadcast of MSNBC’s “Deadline: White House,” NBC News National Affairs Analyst John Heilemann reacted to Donald Trump Jr.’s statement before the Senate Judiciary Committee by saying Trump Jr. admitted to collusion.

Heilemann said, “He’s just admitted collusion. If you read the statement he entered into the record today, the part that you read, and the totality of it, was, I went there with a bunch of people who represented that they were part of a Russian effort to undermine, to take down Hillary Clinton. I said, ‘Yeah, I’ll take that meeting.’ I took it so that I could — to the extent they had information concerning the fitness, character, qualifications of Hillary Clinton, I wanted to hear about it. He’s saying, ‘Yes, I had the intent to collude. I went in and I took the meeting,’ which, by definition, is colluding. He’s admitted to the crime, not in some legal sense, but, in fact, to the act itself. His intention he has made clear.”
