On Monday’s broadcast of CNN’s “OutFront,” House Homeland Security Committee Chairman Bennie Thompson (D-MS) stated that President Trump is “trying to find a puppet” to run DHS, and urged the president, “don’t send us a puppet to run the Department of Homeland Security, send us a professional.”
Thompson said, “He’s trying to find a puppet to run the Department of Homeland Security. We have to have professionals. We are a nation of laws. So to put anybody other than a professional in that position is doing a disservice to the men and women who put their lives on the line every day. So I say to the president, don’t send us a puppet to run the Department of Homeland Security, send us a professional.”
