U2 guitarist The Edge got a little too close to the edge of the stage at the rock band’s show in Vancouver Thursday night – and tumbled right off of it.

According to TMZ, while the band played its hit song “I Still Haven’t Found What I’m Looking For,” Edge took an errant step and fell right off the side of the stage. The Vancouver show was the band’s first date on its expansive “Innocence + Experience” world tour.

After the show, Edge (real name: Dave Evans) took to Twitter to reassure fans he was okay: “Didn’t see the edge, I’m ok!!”

It has not been an easy week for the rocker; also on Thursday, the California Coastal Commission voted to postpone approval on Edge’s plans for a five-mansion, five-swimming pool complex in Sweetwater Mesa near Malibu.

The guitarist reportedly came up against stiff opposition from Los Angeles politicians and environmental groups, who claimed that the planned mansions would destroy the area’s protected habitat.

U2 plays Rogers Arena in Vancouver again on Friday night before heading to San Jose next week. The group will wrap up the U.S. portion of the tour with an eight-night stand at New York’s Madison Square Garden before in July before taking off for Europe in September.
