The first trailer for Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them, a film set in the same universe as the Harry Potter novels, was released online this week.
In the J.K.Rowling-penned film, Newt Scamander (Oscar-winner Eddie Redmayne) sets off on a hunt for magical beasts in 1920s New York in an expansion of the wizarding world she created for her infamous novels.
Astute readers of the Harry Potter books will recognize Fantastic Beasts as the title of a required reading textbook at the Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry.
Colin Farrell, Ron Perlman, Jon Voight, Samantha Morton, Ezra Miller, and Dan Fogler co-star. David Yates, director of the last four Potter films, returns to direct this installment.
Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them is in theaters November 18, 2016. Check out the first trailer above.
