TEL AVIV – Gal Gadot was determined not to win the Miss Universe pageant, the Israeli actress told Jimmy Kimmel on his show Tuesday.

Gadot, who plays Wonder Woman in this summer’s highly anticipated Batman v. Superman and 2017’s Wonder Woman, won the title of Miss Israel in 2004 when she was 18-years-old.

After winning, Gadot traveled to Ecuador to compete in the Miss Universe pageant, but had no intention of bagging another crown.

“I sent myself on a mission not to win the Miss Universe pageant,” said Gadot.

Kimmel responded with incredulity:

“You threw the Miss Universe pageant?” he asked.

“I’m just not that type of girl!” Gadot responded, saying she was “freaking out” that she might have a chance of winning.

Looking at a picture of Gadot dancing with two other contestants, Kimmel joked that it looked like her “heart just wasn’t in it.”

Kimmel remarked that the Miss Universe Pageant is owned by Donald Trump.

“Did he try to marry you?” Kimmel asked Gadot.

“No, I was 18,” she said.

According to Business Insider, Gadot rebelled by showing up late to the pageant and arriving unprepared.
