CBS Late Show host Stephen Colbert knocked CNN reporter Jim Acosta for grandstanding at President Donald Trump’s press conference saying Acosta performed a “dick move” to show how “woke” he was.

During the president’s press conference, Acosta urged Trump to take questions from one of Acosta’s female colleagues.

Colbert, though thought Acosta’s aside was eye rolling, at the very least.

“And when fake news CNN’s Jim Acosta got a chance to ask a question, he made a suggestion to the president,” Colbert said about six minutes into his Wednesday monologue. Colbert then showed the clip of Acosta’s interaction with the president.

After the clip, Colbert dismissed Acosta’s grandstanding saying, “That being said, kind of a dick question, Jim Acosta.” Colbert then needled Acosta adding, “We get it. You’re woke.”

During the president’s press conference, Acosta made to act as if President Trump would never call on a female reporter during a press conference by urging Trump to take questions from one of Acosta’s female colleagues.

Colbert’s dismissive reaction came in response to Acosta’s actions on Wednesday.

“If you don’t mind, after I’m finished, if Weijia [Jiang] or Hallie [Jackson] or Vivian [Salama], or one of our female colleagues could go after me, that would be great. Mr. President, just to follow up on these allegations against Brett Kavanaugh,” Acosta said at Wednesday’s press conference.

The president jumped in asking just what Acosta was talking about.

“What does he mean by that? Explain. What does that mean?” Trump said from the podium.

“It’d be great if a female reporter could ask a question about this issue. So if you don’t mind,” Acosta explained.

“I wouldn’t mind that at all. Wouldn’t mind at all. Wouldn’t make any difference to me. Go ahead,” Trump replied.

As Colbert noted, Acosta was grandstanding as an advocate for women instead of doing his job as a journalist.
