BRUSSELS, Belgium – UK Independence Party (UKIP) members of the European Parliament have today called on the European Union’s (EU) Foreign Policy chief, Federica Mogherini (pictured), to step down after she broke down in tears at a Brussels press conference yesterday.

Speaking to Breitbart London this morning in the increasingly abandoned Belgian capital, defence spokesman Mike Hookem MEP and Jane Collins MEP said those who played a part in engineering the migrant crisis should take responsibility for it.

Referring to a press conference in Jordan yesterday where European External Action Service Chief Federica Mogherini broke down in tears as she discussed the bombings, Jane Collins said:

“You can’t now deny that free movement of people is free movement of terrorists and weapons.

“I think yesterday was a very emotional day and I could understand why people would be in tears. But she occupies a position that agreed to free movement, to Schengen. Every single person responsible for those things must take responsibility for what happened.

“If she can’t take that responsibility, then she should go.

“Crying will not stop it happening again. Border control will stop it happening again”.

Defence spokesman and former commando Mike Hookem backed up his colleague with regards to Ms. Mogherini, remarking: “Tough desicions have to be made, and if you can’t make those tough decisions you’ve got to step aside”.

EU Foreign Chief Mogherini shot to prominence in June last year when she made outspoken comments on Islam in Europe. Speaking at a Euro conference, she remarked:

“Islam holds a place in our Western societies. Islam belongs in Europe. It holds a place in Europe’s history, in our culture, in our food and – what matters most – in Europe’s present and future”.

“Some people are now trying to convince us that a Muslim cannot be a good European citizen, that more Muslims in Europe will be the end of Europe. These people are not just mistaken about Muslims: these people are mistaken about Europe, they have no clue what Europe and the European identity are”.
