Toronto police have confirmed that the young Muslim girl who claimed she was attacked for wearing a hijab was fake after Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau used the “attack” to claim the need to combat “Islamophobia” in Canada.

Last Friday, 11-year-old Muslim Khawlah Noman claimed that she had been attacked in Toronto by a man with a pair of scissors who attempted to cut off her hijab.

News of the incident reached Prime Minister Trudeau who made an official announcement about the incident saying: “My heart goes out the young girl who was attacked, seemingly for her religion. We all need to remind ourselves of today and every day that we are better than this.”

Trudeau was joined by Ontario Liberal Premier Kathleen Wynne who also had no hesitation declaring the “attack” a “cowardly act of hatred”.

“We must stand firm in our support of this young girl who was assaulted simply for wearing a hijab,” she added.

On Monday, Toronto police confirmed that the alleged assault never took place, Canadian broadcaster CBC reports.

“After a detailed investigation, police have determined that the events described in the original news release did not happen,” police said in a press release adding, “The investigation is concluded.”

Police spokesman Mark Pugash said that the Toronto authorities examined the case intensively and determined that the girl’s story was not true but said she will not face any legal ramifications. He added that fake hate crime reports were “quite rare”.

The fake hate crime report is not the first time a Muslim woman has claimed to have been attacked because she was wearing a hijab in a Western country.

Last year in Austria, a 14-year-old Muslim girl claimed that she had been attacked and thrown into train tracks because of her hijab. The story was later proven false after investigators examined security footage that showed she had been lying about the incident.

In the United States, a similar hoax was perpetrated by a Muslim University of Michigan student who claimed a white man had threatened to set her hijab on fire. Once again, video footage taken by CCTV showed that no attack took place.

Despite the repeated push for the need to combat “Islamophobia” by the Canadian Liberal government, such as the passing of the controversial M-103 motion condemning Islamophobia, Canada has seen more of a rise of radical Islamic extremism.

Last year, a Somali asylum seeker with known Islamic extremist ties ran over a police officer in Edmonton, Alberta, and then proceeded to stab him multiple times.

In Toronto, 32-year-old Rehab Dughmosh attacked customers and staff at a Canadian tire store and later emerged in court in a full-face Islamic veil renouncing her Canadian citizenship then declaring loyalty to the Islamic State terror group.
