Abbas Discharged from Hospital After ‘Routine Medical Checks’

The Jerusalem Post reports: Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas was discharged from hospital on Saturday evening after undergoing “routine medical checks in hospital in Ramallah,” reported the Palestinian news agency Wafa.

A hospital doctor told the Palestine TV channel that “all the checks demonstrate that [Abbas] is in good medical condition”.

Abbas’ spokesman rejected social media suggestions that the Palestinian leader was in ill health. “President Mahmoud Abbas underwent medical checks, and they show that he is in perfectly good health.” Abbas’ spokesman, Nabil Abu Radeina, said earlier Saturday that “President Abbas was taken to hospital to undergo routine checks that will take a number of hours.”
