TEL AVIV — A security delegation from the Palestinian Authority is set to arrive in the Gaza Strip at the orders of Palestinian Prime Minister Rami Hamdallah in order to observe the investigation into an explosion that recently targeted a convoy that included the prime minister and intelligence chief Majed Faraj, a Palestinian source from the Interior Ministry said.
According to the source, a team of investigators will examine the findings from the scene of the blast and meet with suspects who have been arrested in its aftermath.
The source noted that responsibility for the incident has been placed on Hamas for the reason that the terrorist organization controls the Gaza Strip, making it responsible for maintaining security there.
But Hamas has continued deflecting the accusations leveled against it. Khalil al-Hayeh, a member of the organization’s so-called politburo, claimed that the attack on Hamdallah’s convoy was an attempt to harm Hamas and that the group is making every effort to find the perpetrators.
