Israel Shoots Down Drone, Hezbollah Denies Involvement

Israeli military officials say they have shot down another Hezbollah drone. The drone was reportedly “in Israeli airspace near the city of Haifa.”

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu described the drone as “another attempt to breach [Israel’s] borders.” He said Israel “will continue to do [whatever’s necessary] to protect the security of Israel’s citizens.”

The Lebanese Sh’iite movement denies Israel’s reports and denies sending a drone over Israeli airspace: “Hezbollah denies sending any unarmed drone toward occupied Palestine.”

Just over six months ago, in October 2012, Israel shot down a similar unmanned drone they also believed to be from Hezbollah.
