Jan. 6 (UPI) — Cincinnati Bengals cornerback Cam Taylor-Britt pleaded guilty to reckless driving and a driving without a license charge and received a five-day jail sentence Tuesday in Cincinnati.

Taylor-Britt was booked at 11:23 a.m. EST Tuesday at the Hamilton County Justice Center. He also faced charges of drag racing and failure to obey hazardous zones, signs and markings, which were filed in September. Hamilton County court records show that those charges were dismissed.

Taylor-Britt’s five total charges stemmed from two separate incidents, which both occurred in 2025. A Cincinnati police officer said Taylor-Britt drove on the wrong side of the road, did a burnout and was speeding in downtown Cincinnati, according to WKRC (ch. 12) in Cincinnati. He apologized for his actions Tuesday in court.

“That’s a gift,” Judge Bernie Bouchard said after issuing the five-day sentence, according to WKRC. “Five days instead of 30. He’s got to do them now.”

Neither the Bengals nor Taylor-Britt’s attorney immediately responded when asked for comment. Taylor-Britt, 26, appeared in eight games this season for the Bengals. He missed nine games due to a foot and hamstring injuries.

The veteran cornerback, who joined the Bengals as a second-round pick in the 2022 NFL Draft, totaled 203 combined tackles, 38 passes defensed, seven interceptions, four tackles for a loss, two interceptions for touchdowns and two forced fumbles over the first 47 appearances of his career.Cincinnati Bengals cornerback Cam Taylor-Britt was booked Tuesday into the Hamilton County Justice Center in Cincinnati. Taylor-Britt, who is set to hit free agency this off-season, told reporters Monday that he hopes to return to the Bengals. He wore a boot on his left foot during the media session in the Bengals’ locker room. He underwent foot surgery in November and used crutches Tuesday during his sentencing.

Pro Football Focus gave Taylor-Britt the 83rd-best defensive rating among cornerbacks who were in for at least 20% of the maximum snaps played at the position in 2025. He also ranked 8rd in coverage. Taylor-Britt received the 68th-best defensive rating and ranked 73rd in coverage in 2024.
