Oct. 27 (UPI) — Landman icon Billy Bob Thornton is set to host a three-part docuseries about the Mayflower, starting Nov. 23 on FOX Nation.
“Billy Bob Thornton is a captivating storyteller with a unique ability to bring history to life,” Lauren Petterson, the streaming service’s president, said in a statement Tuesday.
“The Mayflower offers a fresh and thought-provoking perspective on one of the most familiar chapters in American history, giving viewers a richer understanding of the people, conflicts and events that shaped our nation’s beginnings.”
The Mayflower was a 17th century ship that, in 1620, transported English families to what would become the American colony, then state, of Massachusetts.
Thronton, 71, won an Oscar for writing Sling Blade, a 1996 film in which he also starred. He is known for his roles in Goliath, Fargo, Love Actually, Armageddon and Pushing Tin.
