March 16 (UPI) — Metallica’s James Hetfield is engaged.
The rocker proposed to girlfriend Adriana Gillet while scuba diving.
They announced the news on Instagram with a photo of the couple underwater.
The image features Hetfield holding a sheet of paper that reads “Adriana Gillett will you marry me?”
Gillet swam by his side and gave a thumbs up.
“The best birthday trip surprise. Swimming with whale sharks on Friday the 13th with the most unique, special and romantic proposal a Pisces could ever imagine. In a sea full of fish, we caught each other. Thank you God for putting us together,” Gillet wrote in her own Instagram post, celebrating the engagement, per People.
Hatfield was previously married in 1997.
