Happy Birthday, Brian Terry

Happy Birthday, Brian Terry

Border Patrol Agent Brian Terry would have celebrated his 43rd birthday this week. He was a hero and former Marine, but more importantly he was an American, son, brother, and uncle who is missed everyday.

Terry lost his life on December 14, 2010 when a man using a gun from Operation Fast & Furious shot him in the back. Attorney General Eric Holder has been held in contempt of Congress for not providing relevant evidence requested by Congress in the investigation of that program. No one has been held accountable for Fast & Furious.

Brian was raised in Flat Rock, MI and wanted to be in law enforcement since he was a little boy. He enlisted in the Marines after high school; after he left, he joined the police force in his hometown. But that was not enough for Brian. He was one who always wanted to be the best and protect his fellow citizens. He decided to join the border patrol, but still felt he could do more.

Even though he was older than most of his classmates, he defied the odds and became a member of the elite Border Patrol Tactical Unit (BORTAC), the agency’s equivalent of the Navy SEALs. He graduated at the top of the class and was one of the best agents. He knew the job was dangerous, but he would do anything to protect others and this country.

Brian loved life and his job. His mother Josephine and father Kent, siblings Michelle, Kent, and Kelly, and many nieces and nephews survive him.
