GOP presidential candidate Carly Fiorina says if she’s elected President of the United States, she would bring back “the warrior class” of generals, such as General Petraeus, General Flynn, General Keane and General Mattis.
“They’re pretty smart guys. I’d like to bring them back, by the way,” Fiorina told Breitbart News Daily host Stephen K. Bannon. “These are generals that understand what is going down on the ground.”
“The warrior class…who understand these enemies,” she stated. “They’ve all been sidelined because they gave Obama messages he didn’t want to hear.”
During her interview with Bannon, Fiorina took a swing at President Obama on his address from the Oval Office Sunday night, as well as Democrat frontrunner Hillary Clinton. Fiorina says Clinton wants to run on “anything but her track record” as Secretary of State. Fiorina also criticized Donald Trump, disagreeing with his idea to let Russia take out the Islamic State (ISIS).
“Vintage Obama. No strategy, no leadership,” Fiorina said of Obama’s speech. “It also had no sense of reality to it.”
Fiorina said the FBI director has informed the administration that the FBI is overwhelmed by the number of possible Islamic terrorists in the U.S. and didn’t even know the San Bernardino shooters were even here or on the FBI’s radar.
She said the U.S. shouldn’t take in anymore refugees at this time because of the inadequate vetting process, as one of the San Bernardino shooters came to the U.S. on a K1 Fiancé visa. “We cannot let any more in because we cannot adequately vet them,” she explained. “We know we cannot vet them. Obama’s administration has told us we cannot vet them.”
Fiorina moved her criticism from Obama to Democrat frontrunner Hillary Clinton.
Hillary Clinton wants to run on anything but her track record. Her track record of lies about Benghazi, her track record of getting absolutely every foreign policy challenge wrong. Whether it was a red re-set button with Putin, or Bashar al-Assad as a positive reformer, or Libya or Benghazi or declaring vitory in Iraq, she’s gotten them all wrong. She wouldn’t want to run on that.
Fiorina suggested that Clinton wants to run on the historic nature of her presidency.
“What she wants to run on is the war on women,” Fiorina said. “I’m never going to ask for people’s support because I’m a woman although I’m proud to be one.” Fiorina added that she asks for support from people because she can beat Clinton.
Fiorina discussed her plan to defeat ISIS if she were elected President of the United States, but took a moment to criticize the GOP frontrunner’s plan against ISIS.
“Donald Trump…has also said he would outsource defeating ISIS to Russia. We cannot. Russia is an adversary. Russia is in line with Iran. We must lead,” Fiorina said, adding that Sunni Arabs must play a huge roll in defeating ISIS.
Fiorina also commented on the need for the private sector to help the government stop cyber terrorism and combat threats to cyber security.
“I’m giving a speech later today on technology, specifically on cyber terrorism and cyber security. We must engage the private sector in trying to help us work around encryption and track down these terroists and track though their communications,” Fiorina explained to Bannon, saying that when she was the CEO of Hewlett-Packard she was asked to help in the aftermath of 9-11. “They have to be asked and engaged.”
Fiorina then commented on the debated government surveillance issue, saying, “The Patriot Act is 14-years-old. Technology has moved on dramatically.”
She said that if elected President of the United States she would provide arms and supplies to allies like the Jordanians, Egyptians and the Kurds. “Our allies in the region have asked us for very specific things.”
“We must cut off the supply lines,” Fiorina said of combatting ISIS. “We must deny ISIS territory.”
“How shocking of a statement when we now learn the average Iraqi citizen assumes the United States is supporting ISIS?” Fiorina questioned, saying Iraqis think that because they don’t understand why such a strong nation is so weak in the face of this enemy.
“We will have a better chance of engaging in that conversation if we show strength,” she said of getting allies like Saudi Arabia to step up and help. “They conclude that we are weak.”
“They must know that we will lead,” Fiorina said of America’s allies, adding that the allies don’t see the U.S. standing up against Iran and Russia.
