Republican presidential candidate Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) has a new ad out in South Carolina attacking Donald Trump for being unprincipled and untrustworthy.

The ad opens with a clip of Trump saying, “I’m very capable of changing to anything I want to change to.”

“That’s for sure,” the ad says.

The ad then shows a clip from an interview with the late Tim Russert in which he asks Trump if a hypothetical President Trump would “ban partial birth abortion.”

“Well, look, I am pro-choice in every respect,” Trump says. After Russert presses him again, Trump concedes that he would not ban it.

The ad also shows clips of Trump praising former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton and Planned Parenthood.

“South Carolina cannot trust Donald Trump,” the ad says. It then flashes back to Trump saying, “I’m very capable of changing to anything I want to change to.”

“Don’t give him that chance,” the ad concludes.

Trump sent out a statement Monday responding to Cruz’s attacks.

“Cruz says I am pro-choice, when in fact I am staunchly pro-life and have been for a long time. Like Ronald Reagan, on many issues, I have evolved,” the statement reads. “Cruz has become unhinged and is lying with the hopes that his statements will go unchecked until after the election and he will save his failing campaign.”
