Reuters Poll: Voters Downplaying Hillary Clinton’s Health Concerns

Britain-based Reuters news wire service claims that its new poll finds that U.S. voters say they’re not reacting to reports that Hillary Clinton’s health is poor.

The Reuters/Ipsos poll of 1,579 likely voters between Sept. 9 and Sept. 15, showed Clinton with a four point lead over Trump, 42 percent to 38 percent.

The wire service’s recent report notes that respondents took the poll starting on the 12th, after video was released showing Clinton collapsing as she was leaving early from New York City’s 9/11 memorial service on September 11.

But the video and resulting controversy, Reuters claimed, seem to have had no impact on voters, leaving her with a 42 percent to 38 percent polling advantage over Trump.

Americans do not appear to be overly concerned with the health of either candidate. According to a separate Reuters/Ipsos poll conducted this week, most American adults said the issue would make “no difference” to how they voted.

A negligible percentage of Clinton supporters said concerns about her health made them “less likely” to vote for her.

Reuters also noted that most polling aggregators show the race is even tighter with Clinton only up one or two points nationwide.

Reuters’ poll showed that Gary Johnson of the Libertarian Party had 7 percent support, while Jill Stein of the Green Party had 2 percent support.
