Most likely voters worry that the next presidential election could be influenced by illegal immigrants voting, a recent Rasmussen Reports survey found.

The survey discovered that most likely voters, 80 percent, expressed the belief that illegal immigrants should not be allowed to vote in U.S. elections — a sentiment shared by 94 percent of Republicans, 84 percent of independents, and 66 percent of Democrats. Notably, nearly one-quarter of Democrats, 23 percent, believe illegal immigrants should be allowed to vote in U.S. elections.

Over three-quarters across the board, 77 percent, said it is at least somewhat important to prevent illegal immigrants from voting in U.S. elections, and of those, 60 percent consider it “very” important.

When asked how likely it is that the outcome of the 2024 election will be influenced by illegal immigrants voting, however, 51 percent said it is at least somewhat likely. Of those, 28 percent said it is “very” likely. In contrast, 42 percent said it is not very likely or not at all likely.

Republicans remain the most concerned, as 72 percent say it is at least somewhat likely, compared to 41 percent of independents and 39 percent of Democrats who said the same.

The survey comes as former President Donald Trump sounds the alarm over issues such as automatic voter registration in states such as Pennsylvania — a key swing state. Critics warn that such protocols enhance the likelihood of mistakes and fraud, including illegal immigrants voting.

“Pennsylvania is at it again!” Trump exclaimed in a Truth Social post which came days after Pennsylvania became the 24th state to roll out automatic voter registration:

The Radical Left Governor, Josh Shapiro, has just announced a switch to Automatic Voter Registration, a disaster for the Election of Republicans, including your favorite President, ME! This is a totally Unconstitutional Act, and must be met harshly by Republican Leadership in Washington and Pennsylvania.

“Pennsylvania, Michigan, Georgia, Arizona, Wisconsin, and others, are far more important than ‘Aida,’ Sloppy Chris, Lyin’ Mike Pence, Nikki ‘Birdbrain’ Haley, Ron (‘Dead Campaign’) DeSanctimonious, and the others,” Trump added.

This is not a concern concentrated to Trump, either. Former Virginia Attorney General Ken Cuccinelli, founder of the pro-DeSantis Super PAC Never Back Down, issued this warning:

If you want to increase the likelihood of fraud, multiple or duplicate registrations, and participation of ineligible voters — such as non-citizens and illegal aliens, temporary residents, and convicted felons — look no further than the process of dumping government data onto the voter rolls.

The Rasmussen Reports survey was taken September 24-26, among 1,035 likely voters. It has a +/- 3 percent margin of error.
