The NFL has asked you to wear pink for breast cancer awareness, and they’ve asked you to wear camouflage for military appreciation. Now, prepare to be offered foam fists and knee pads, because the NFL might soon be celebrating, “Activism Awareness Month.”

Current and former NFL players campaigning for racial equality and criminal justice reform wrote a lengthy memo to league commissioner Roger Goodell officially seeking overt league support in their effort, including an endorsement for an activism awareness month, Yahoo Sports has learned.
The 10-page memo, obtained by Yahoo Sports, was sent to Goodell and executive vice president of football operations Troy Vincent in August, requesting wide-ranging involvement in their movement from the NFL. The memo seeks an investment of time and education, political involvement, finances and other commitments from the league. It also sought to have the NFL endorse the month of November as an activism awareness month, similar to the periods of league calendar dedicated to breast cancer awareness and military recognition.
The endorsers of the memo include Michael Bennett, anthem-protesting, cop-suing defensive end for the Seattle Seahawks. Fellow anthem-protester and Philadelphia Eagles safety Malcolm Jenkins. In addition to recently retired wide receiver Anquan Boldin, and the Eagles’ Torrey Smith.
According to Yahoo!, “A league spokesperson declined to comment on the memo or Goodell’s communication with specific NFL players. The four players who co-authored the letter either didn’t return requests for comment or declined to speak about it, citing an agreement to keep direct communications with Goodell private.”
A portion of the memo obtained by Yahoo! reads:
To be clear, we are asking for your support. We appreciate your acknowledgement on the call regarding the clear distinction between support and permission. For us, support means: bear all or part of the weight of; hold up; give assistance to, especially financially; enable to function or act. We need support, collaboration and partnerships to achieve our goal of strengthening the community. There are a variety of ways for you to get involved. Similar to the model we have in place for players to get involved, there are three tiers of engagement based on your comfort level. To start, we appreciate your agreement on making this an immediate priority. In your words, from Protest to Progress, we need action.
This moment wasn’t hard to foresee. When Roger Goodell offered unqualified support for Michael Bennett, in the aftermath of his altercation with the Las Vegas Police Department. Agreeing with and supporting his cause, without waiting for any detail or evidence to be presented in the case. That move, sent the signal loud and clear to all anthem-protesting activist in the league, that the commissioner was ripe for the taking.
Now, Goodell finds himself in the position of having to show “support” for the SJW monsters he helped create. While at the same time trying not to alienate the fan base that already feels massively alienated by the political activism that has taken over the league. It’s a mess in every sense of the word, but, it’s a mess of his own making and I couldn’t be happier about it. Goodell and the SJW crowd deserve each other, and looking at the league’s disastrous ratings start to the season, due in large part to fan outrage over anthem protests. If the league follows through with this and dedicates a month to a bonanza of rabid anti-police, anti-American, leftist activism, each other might be all they’ll have left.
