Pope Francis to Bishops: ‘Do Not Be Afraid to Welcome Immigrants’

Pope Francis urges Catholic bishops in the United States to open the doors of the Church to immigrants, asserting that “these people will enrich America and its Church. As a Latin American, the Pope apologized for “pleading my own case,” when speaking about the influx of Hispanic immigrants into the United States. He also thanked the bishops for the work they have done for immigrants in this country.

Obama’s words may appear as a purposeful twist to appeal to leftwing “social justice” Catholics while at the same time not admitting that unborn babies are, in fact, “human beings.” Like many liberals, Obama also uses the words of Pope Francis to shore up support for his policies he views as advocating for equality and fairness, while ignoring the Church’s unchanging doctrine in areas such as the sanctity of human life from conception to natural death, and marriage between one man and one woman.

Catholic Group Urges Schools to Stop Honoring Corporations Seeking Homosexual ‘Marriage Rights’

In response to an amicus brief submitted by 379 corporations and businesses encouraging the U.S. Supreme Court to declare homosexual “marriage rights,” the Cardinal Newman Society is urging Catholic schools, colleges and universities to refrain from providing honors, speaking platforms, or positions on boards and committees to the leaders and board members of these corporations.
