Mike Pence greeted an overflow crowd in Fletcher, North Carolina, on Monday evening with recollection of a time when then-President Richard Nixon was driven out of office over the Watergate scandal, comparing that to Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton’s destruction of tens of thousands of subpoenaed emails.

Kevin Johnson Wants Restraining Order to Prevent E-mail Release

Johnson filed a restraining order request against the city of Sacramento to prevent the Sacramento News and Review from gaining access to e-mails he sent as mayor. Johnson claims that the release would harm him and the National Conference of Black Mayors (NCBM), of which he was once vice president and president. He named the NCBM as a co-plaintiff.

“Investigators are blaming two IRS workers at a computer center in West Virginia for erasing thousands of emails related to the tax agency’s tea party scandal, impeding congressional investigations into the treatment of conservative political groups,” reports the Associated Press. “The workers might be incompetent, a lead investigator said Thursday, but there is no evidence they were part of a criminal conspiracy to destroy evidence.”

CNN Offers Sneak Peek at Hillary Clinton’s Emails Ahead of Hearings

On Monday morning, CNN posted what it described as an advanced look “Inside Clinton’s Benghazi Emails,” a body of correspondence that will soon be reviewed by Rep. Trey Gowdy and his House Select Committee on Benghazi. The CNN article is based on “several government officials” who anonymously characterized the emails.
