The Houston Chronicle attacked an accurate Breitbart Texas report on an Islamic tribunal in January by asserting the same facts Breitbart reported. The Breitbart article revealed the existence of an “Islamic Tribunal” operating in Irving, Texas.
The Harris County District Attorney (Houston, Texas) is prosecuting a man for one murder and suspect his involvement in another that have been identified as alleged honor killings. The practice of honor killing has long gone out of style in most of the world. But, in some parts of the Muslim world it is a fundamental tenant of their religion as interpreted under Sharia Law .
Lieutenant Colonel Allen West (USA-Ret) picked up on the Breitbart Texas report, via his website, announcing the Muhammad Art Exhibit and Contest being put on by free-speech activist Pamela Geller. West is a former Congressman from Florida who soon will be living in the Dallas area.
Breitbart Texas confirmed Tuesday that “an Islamic Tribunal using Sharia law” is indeed operating in Texas. But not to worry: an attorney for the tribunal assures us that participation is “voluntary,” and one of the Sharia judges, Dr. Taher El-badawi, says it’s devoted only to “non-binding dispute resolution.”
An Islamic Tribunal using Sharia law in Texas has been confirmed by Breitbart Texas. The tribunal is operating as a non-profit organization in Dallas. One of the attorneys for the tribunal said participation and acceptance of the tribunal’s decisions are “voluntary.”
