Twin Peaks Biker Hearing Puts Waco District Attorney on Hotseat

Lawyers for three of the bikers at the Twin Peaks restaurant in Waco, Texas, filed legal documents to have the district attorney recused from their criminal cases. On Monday, a hearing on their motions put the McClennan County District Attorney on the hotseat. D.A. Abel Reyna, the police chief, and other law enforcement officials, were all placed on the stand to testify during the hearing.

Pair of Bikers in Twin Peaks Shootout Case Push to Recuse Waco D.A.

Bikers who were caught-up in the Twin Peaks arrests in May 2015 have filed motions to recuse the Waco District Attorney. They say they cannot get a fair trial because there is a conflict of interest and have asked for the appointment of an attorney pro tem.

One of the defendant’s in a controversial gang injunction lawsuit has been murdered. He was killed in the Houston neighborhood where court action has been taken in an effort to reduce crime there.

Texas Court Tells Waco Twin Peaks Judge to Vacate Gag Order

The Waco Court of Appeals held on Friday that a lower court judge was wrong to issue a gag order in connection with a Twin Peaks biker case. The court ordered the trial court judge to lift the order. The gag order was imposed on June 30th.
