Report: Parents May Face Charges for Tying Up Alleged Child Sex Predator

Law enforcement officers secure the area where they allegedly arrested terror suspect Ahmad Khan Rahami following a shootout in Linden, New Jersey, on September 19, 2016.16 An 'armed and dangerous' Afghan-born suspect wanted in the weekend bomb attacks in New York and New Jersey was wounded Monday in a shootout …

A Canadian couple may be finding themselves on the opposite side of the law for live-streaming the moment they tied up an alleged child sex predator, according to a report.

A video of the Thursday evening encounter inside the house shows the man bound by his hands and feet while the woman gives an expletive-filled explanation of why she tied him up and berates him.

“He comes to my house to meet my 13-year-old f***ing daughter to f***k her,” the woman behind the camera can be heard saying. “We f***ing tackled him and zap strapped him and called the police.”

The couple claims that the alleged 28-year-old predator was seeking a sexual relationship with their 13-year-old daughter, and the man has not been charged with a crime for showing up to their British Columbia home, CTV News reported.

The teen’s mother reportedly intercepted sexually explicit messages she claims the man sent her daughter on Instagram and invited him to her home.

Moments later, the police arrived at her home not to arrest the predator, but to arrest her.

“I’m arrested because we caught a predator the police refused to catch,” the woman says at the end of the video, before turning the camera on herself one last time.

The teen girl’s mother—who is not identified—told CTV that she tipped off the police about the alleged predator a month before the incident, but the police did not take action.

“They wouldn’t even look at my phone. They just said to block him and forget it,” she claimed. “I’ve been waiting for six weeks for the police to give me a name behind the Instagram account.”

The Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP), Canada’s federal law enforcement body, claim that the family should not have tried to serve vigilante justice because the man in the video has been under investigation for child solicitation since March.

RMCP added that the mother migh have been interfering with authorities’ efforts to compromise the investigation.

The 13-year-old’s parents, however, are not backing down even as the police investigate them for assault and unlawful restraint.

“Shouldn’t a guy be able to protect his own family in his house?” the father told the San Francisco Chronicle. “This is ridiculous, and I felt that was the best way to do it.”

“If I get charged, I still feel it was the right thing,” the mother added.
