Breitbart News Announces Addition of Katie McHugh

WASHINGTON D.C. April 23, 2014 – The Breitbart News Network (@BreitbartNews) announced today the addition of the Daily Caller’s Katie McHugh (@k_mcq) as the new weekend editor.

“This is as exciting a time as we’ve ever had at Breitbart,” said Breitbart News Editor-in-Chief Alex Marlow. “With every talent acquisition we are moving one step closer to realizing Andrew’s vision for having a news platform that can aggressively and insightfully tell the stories that are shaping our political and cultural experience.”

“Conservative journalism means exposing the truth and giving the public the full picture – nothing less,” said McHugh, a Pennsylvania native who in 2013 was awarded the Lyn Nofziger Fellowship from the Intercollegiate Studies Institute. “The new media can change the world by living up to standards of honesty. I’m very proud to join the Breitbart News Network to reshape the American political conversation by airing out all the facts.”

McHugh is the latest in what has been an aggressive expansion of Breitbart News that has included the launch of international and regional verticals (Breitbart London, Breitbart Texas, Breitbart California) as well as the additions of Jonathan Strong (National Review), Jeff Poor (Daily Caller) and most recently Charlie Spiering (Washington Examiner) during the first quarter of 2014.

“Breitbart News continues to grow and expand, and the addition of Katie is just the latest in what is a dedicated talent investment effort,” said Breitbart News President and CEO Larry Solov.  “It’s very encouraging that we are able to attract such talent because they realize that Breitbart News is leading the way on comprehensive news coverage and has become the leading voice for conservatives, wherever they are.”
