Republican vice presidential nominee Mike Pence will campaign in four states over three days starting on Monday, a campaign source has revealed to Breitbart News.
Pence will make multiple campaign stops in North Carolina on Monday. The source revealed that the campaign was watching Hurricane Matthew in relation to whether to keep these events in place. Breitbart News reported back on October 5 that Pence, “depending on Hurricane Matthew’s trajectory may travel to North Carolina.”
Rumors have circulated questioning whether Pence was cancelling campaign events following the release of an 11-year-old video of Pence’s running mate, Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump, making lewd remarks about women. Pence had been slated on short notice to fill in for Trump at a campaign event in Wisconsin with Rep. Paul Ryan on Saturday, but later chose not to appear at that event, of his own accord. However Pence is scheduled for several campaign events in some of the four states in the coming week. Late Friday Trump released a video apology to the American people in which he expressed remorse for the comments in the video, “I’ve said and done things I regret and the words released today on this more than a decade old video are one of them. Anyone who knows me knows these words don’t reflect who I am. I said it, I was wrong and I apologize.”
Pence responded with a statement that he doesn’t condone the remarks Trump made in the video from 2005, but said he is grateful that Trump is remorseful and that he has apologized. “We pray for his family and look forward to the opportunity he has to show what is in his heart when he goes before the nation tomorrow night,” said Pence.
Trump will face Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton on Sunday night in a town hall-style debate.
From North Carolina, Pence heads to both Iowa and Nebraska on Tuesday for campaign stops in those states.
Then on Wednesday Pence will travel to Virginia to campaign, the fourth state in three days. He will make multiple stops in the state.
