Poll: Spitzer Lead Grows in NYC Comptroller Race

While Anthony Weiner undergoes the trials and travails of a continuing sexting scandal that could put him out of the running for New York City mayor, ex-governor Eliot Spitzer, who resigned office after a prostitution scandal, is widening his lead in polls for comptroller of the city. “If you look at Weiner versus Spitzer there’s a big difference in whether people want to give a second chance,” said Marist pollster Lee Miringoff to New York’s CBS 2. Spitzer now has a 12 point lead over his chief rival, Scott Stringer, at 48-36.
